All of these words come to mind when I think of my Belgian Malinois. I have taught obedience classes for more then 8 years and I currently train and compete with my dogs in conformation, obedience, rally, agility, and Freestyle. Butch, Butch-Dog FDCH, was our first dog. We adopted him from the pound in Arkansas. Being a hound he usually had his own agenda but I learned much from Butch all of which has made me a better trainer. Jake, U-AG1 U-CDX Noblecroft's Highland Storm CDX AX FM TT CGC, our second dog is everything a good German Shepherd should be, loyal, trustworthy, gentle but protective, intelligent, and a phenomenal competition dog. He was my first obedience dog, agility dog, Flyball dog, and Therapy dog. He was the dog I learned to train with, made mistakes on, and he competed and excelled at any sport we tried. There came a time in Jake's career where I had time to train a new puppy. I had always liked the Belgian Malinois and decided the breed would be a great match for me and the dog sports I competed in. Cain, U-CD Ch. Broadcreek's Raisin' Cain UDX OA NAJ FDCH CGC, was my first Malinois. I couldn't have asked for a better dog to train or compete with, he is truly exceptional. Cain has not met a stranger and is very outgoing which also made him a wonderful Therapy dog. Not only was he my first Belgian Malinois he was my first High in Trail (HIT) obedience dog with multiple HIT, my first Utility Dog (UD) and Utility Dog Excellent (UDX), my first breed Champion who was also my first group placing and group winning dog. Living with a Malinois is different then a German Shepherd. Jake has all the drive that Cain has but Cain is a much busier dog and in training my Malinois are always thinking a step ahead. Which does keep you on your toes when it comes to training. Jewel, Broadcreek's Bijou du Sterling CGC, is the "little girl" of the group. But make no mistake she keeps the boys in line and tends to drive them crazy since she can out run all of them to the ball. All the boys are very vocal but I can count on both hands how many times she has barked. She is an affectionate little girl who loves to gives kisses and is extremely smart. Czar, Ch Czar Sweet Vulcan CGC TDI, came to us in January of 2004 from the Malinois kennel Sweet Vulcan located in Belgium. Not only does he possess beautiful type and movement he has a lovely outgoing temperament and wonderful drive. Czar has never met anyone he doesn't like, an absolute social butterfly. He is pushy when it comes to attention and is always ready and willing to work. He is very flashy in the ring whether it be obedience, agility, or conformation. Clint, Merson's High Plains Drifter is the newest addition to our family. I brought him back from Dallas in July 2009. He is wonderful, silly, sweet guy who has stolen my heart. He is always eager to work and is my son Wyatt's best buddy. He has beautiful type and structure and seems to float when he moves. Clint will be shown in conformation and obedience and I know we'll have a lot of fun together. I hope you enjoy my website and all my wonderful companions; from the past to present, all of which hold a very special place in my heart. |
